How to Play

When the game begins, all seven stacks are empty, and your first card appears far above them.  Then it starts to fall.  Using the arrow keys, you move your card so that it's over the stack of your choice, and once you're ready, you drop it onto the stack.  

If you are able to stack 3 cards of the same rank on top of each other (e.g. three Queens), those 3 cards will collapse and shorten the stack.  Similarly, if you are able to stack 3 or more cards in a run of the same suit (e.g. the 7, 8, 9, and 10 of Spades), the cards in the run will collapse and shorten the stack. 

As soon as you drop your card (and after the stacks collapse), another card appears at the top of the screen and the process starts all over again.  The game ends when there's no room for your next card to appear.  Your final score is based on the number of cards you drop and -- more importantly -- the number of stacks you collapse.

One last thing: in addition to maneuvering your card with the arrow keys, you can also use the space bar to swap your card for another one from the deck.  You can do this as often as you like, and it's often to your strategic advantage!

Rummy Drop version 2.4 also has the following features:

• High Score Table - keeps track of the top ten high scores and lets you enter a comment for each.
• Sound Support - sound effects whenever you collapse a stack, plus background music; you can turn them on or off.
• Custom Colors - choose your own foreground and background colors at any time.
• Many Games In One - there are four different built-in configurations ("The Purist", "Easy Going", "One Deck", and  "Infinity"), plus you can customize your own configuration.
• Fast Download - unlike other shareware card games (which are often a megabyte or more) this one is just over 180 kilobytes.  That's smaller than many web pages, and takes just over a minute to download on a 56.6k modem.
• Cheap - it only costs $7 to register.  Come on, that's less than the price of a pizza!

System Requirements

Rummy Drop has very modest system requirements:

• Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT4
• Approximately 500 KB of available disk space (it fits on a floppy disk)

Note that Rummy Drop does NOT work on Windows 3.0, Windows 3.1, or any non-PC platform.
