Downloading and installing Poker Drop is a simple 3 step process... Step 1 - Download the Poker Drop self-extracting executable. The link below will download a copy of POKEZIP.EXE, a program that contains all of the files that are required by Poker Drop. POKEZIP.EXE is 187 KB in size, and should take about one minute to download using a 56.6 modem.
Step 2 - Run the self-extracting executable that you just downloaded in Step 1. This will bring up a dialog like the one below, which allows you to specify a location on your hard drive where you'd like to install the Poker Drop program. You can accept the default location of "C:\Poker Drop", or you can type the path to a different folder (e.g. "C:\Games\PokeDrop" or "C:\Program Files\Poker Drop") if you'd rather install it somewhere else. Once you've specified the location where you'd like to install Poker Drop, click the Unzip button. The 17 files that make up Poker Drop will then be extracted, de-compressed, and copied to the folder you have specified. Poker Drop is now installed on your computer!
Step 3 - Run the Poker Drop program. To play the game, open the folder where you installed Poker Drop (e.g. C:\Poker Drop) and double-click on the file named POKEDROP.EXE. Its icon should look like this: From now on, you can simply repeat step 3 whenever you want to play Poker Drop. Or you can create a Windows shortcut that lets you launch Poker Drop from your desktop or Start menu, as instructed below.
Creating a ShortcutTo make it easier to run Poker Drop, you can create a Windows shortcut to it and place it on your desktop. Open the folder where you installed Poker Drop (e.g. C:\Poker Drop), click on the file POKEDROP.EXE, and drag it onto the desktop. Windows will automatically create a shortcut (indicated by the little arrow in the lower left corner of the icon) that lets you play Poker Drop without having to open up the Poker Drop folder every time. Note: if you are using Windows 2000, you may need to hold down the SHIFT and CTRL keys while dragging the icon onto the desktop in order to create a shortcut.
Uninstalling Poker DropIf you ever decide to uninstall Poker Drop, simply delete the folder into which you unzipped it. For instance, if you accepted the default location in Step 2 above, you can uninstall Poker Drop by deleting the C:\Poker Drop folder from your hard drive. If you specified a different location, you'll need to delete that folder instead.
Getting the Zip FileIf you have your own copy of WinZip (and you know how to use it) you can download the Poker Drop zip file directly. It's slightly smaller (157 KB) but contains exactly the same files as the self-extracting executable. |
